Criminals “Fishing” Bank Deposit Boxes

BankMEDFORD, Ore. — Criminals have found a new way to steal money from a bank.

Medford Police call it “fishing,” where a fishing line and other devices are used to pull bank deposits from the exterior drop boxes. Several banks across southern oregon reported finding those devices left behind and money gone from their deposit boxes.

Since last Friday, police believe the two men stole from six banks. Through surveillance cameras, police narrowed down a car they say the two suspects drove in. They’re looking for a white, 2003 Buick Rendezvous.

Contact police if you recognize the men or spot the car.
