MEDFORD, Ore. — Experts have been warning us for weeks about the fire season ahead. They say fires will spark earlier than usual, just like the one burning in California. And if you thought last fire season was rough, experts say moisture levels in the soil and plants are now significantly drier compared to last year.
“We’re going to have conditions for large fire growth across more than the usual amount of landscape here in Southern Oregon,” said the Bureau of Land Management’s Jim Whittington.
No one from our area is assisting with the fires near San Diego right now, but crews are ready to answer the call.
