NEAR RUCH, Ore. — Crews containing a grass fire near Ruch battled gusty winds. The fire reached one acre in size. Applegate Fire and the Oregon Department of Forestry responded to the call shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Crews operated helicopters and bulldozers while working to contain the rapidly growing fire.
It’s unknown what starting the fire. Neighbors report hearing gunshots prior to the start of the fire.
