Crater Lake Takes Hit From Sequester Cut

CRATER LAKE, Ore. — An annual right of spring in Southern Oregon is being threatened by the recent sequester budget cuts.

Crater Lake National Park is losing 5% of it’s budget, money which could come out of the snowplowing finances. Snowplowing the rim drive and north entrance road usually starts in May, but that could be pushed back at this point.

Park officials also say ranger talks and tours could face cuts as well.
