CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore. — Just hours after the government reopens, signs of normality appear across the country. Park officials took down closed signs, and many monuments and museums are now open for business.
Crater Lake National Park is open after the sixteen day shutdown. Park enthusiasts can access public areas and roads as crews work to get everything back online.
Right now, Highway 62 through the park is open, along with the road to Rim Village. Park staff members want to open West Rim Drive and North Entrance Road by this Friday, depending on the weather.
Since it is near the end of the season, the East Rim Drive and the Pinnacles Road will stay closed until next year. The information center is open, along with the café and gift shop.
