WHITE CITY, Ore. — Two drivers were rushed to the hospital, slowing the morning commute for drivers.

It happened on Highway 62 near Agate Road. Oregon State Police say 85-year-old Willis Hughes was turning left from the highway into the Chevron Parking Lot. Troopers say that’s when a 57-year-old Orauralia Robles collided with the man’s truck, flipping it to its side. OSP says the Hughes had to be extricated from the truck.

Traffic was slowed for about an hour and a half along the highway. Country Clipper Pet Groomers says the man involved in the crash was on his way to get his dog groomed. After the crash, the small black dog took off into the field. Several people who witnessed the crash spent hours searching that field for the dog.

Oregon State Police say Hughes was cited for a dangerous left turn.
