“Cover Oregon” Turns to Paperwork

video preview image

MEDFORD, Ore. — Website representatives of Cover Oregon first said they hoped to open online enrollment by the end of October. Here it is, Halloween night, and the site is not ready.

A local insurance agent says he’s tired of waiting, and so are his clients. So, right now, he’s sending out paper enrollment forms to 100% of his clients, going back to old way of doing things.

Cover Oregon representatives say engineers are still working out the bugs with the site so it’s in top shape for enrollment, and until then, representatives want you to put pen to paper.

A local independent agent anticipated this. He knows Cover Oregon’s goal was to offer the online option, but at this point he says there’s not another choice.

Cover Oregon’s target enrollment by December 15th is $200,000 and representatives claim they’ve trained enough extra employees to input those paper enrollment forms so that residents receive coverage on the 1st of January.
