Paper applications were due December 4th for January coverage. Those applicants receive an ID number from Cover Oregon, allowing them to pick an actual plan online by December 15th.
The problem is that many applicants didn’t receive that number.
Because the agency was having so much trouble processing applications in time, they extended the date to pick a plan to December 27th.
“When they’ve been promised something, and we’re also communicating that to our clients, and then the promise is not working out, it’s making everyone pretty frustrated,” said Cover Oregon agent Gina Landers.
Landers says this also comes among a slew of other glitches with the website — from ID numbers not working correctly to auto-complete forms filling in the wrong information.
She says she’s still concerned many of her clients won’t be able to get coverage on January first, despite doing everything Cover Oregon asked.
