CENTRAL POINT, Ore., – Jackson County is hosting a series of community meetings, hoping to gather public input on gang activity.
The meetings are a part of the county Gang Assessment, which helps collect data on neighborhood gang problems, and tries to find ways to solve them. Thursday’s meeting was held at the Central Point Library, and organizers took surveys of local residents about gang activity in their neighborhoods.
The next meeting will be held Oct. 9 at the Santo Center in Medford. It is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. The full assessment is projected to be completed by March 2013.
