The costume contest and road race wrapped up its fifth year today with its biggest turnout ever, beating out last year’s showing of about 700 people.
Costumed runners, ranging from scary to downright hilarious, hit the pavement to support the Ashland Schools Foundation.
And, of course, to have a little fun.
“The monster dash is the coolest thing. You wear a costume, everyone wears a costume… it’s a beautiful October Saturday morning, and you just rock it. It’s awesome,” said runner Dan Hamlin.
Event organizers say they hope to eventually make the event as big as Medford’s Pear Blossom Festival.
