High pressure persists over the region continuing the sunny and unseasonably warm trend we’ve been seeing. Today will be the hottest day of the week with much cooler temperatures returning tomorrow, but still above normal for this time of the year. The cooling trend will last through the weekend cooling not only afternoon highs but bringing our morning lows down to or below the freezing mark in the basin! The Coats for Kids drive starts today and with temperatures quickly falling this week, try to donate a used or new coat for a child in need.
Temperatures start to drop tomorrow due to a cold front that will pass north of our region pushing the ridge out of the area, and the temperatures continue to drop as we head into the weekend thanks to a cut-off low pushing into the area. This low pressure system will bring more clouds into the area and if we can get enough moisture present we could see some showers and thunderstorms. The previous low that moved through a couple weekends ago did not have enough moisture to work with to provide showers.
