A cold and dry air mass is building into the Northwest today. The skies have cleared from yesterday’s system and temperatures have dropped quickly overnight. In Lakeview, the wind chill temperature is below 0. At the Coast, North Bend dropped into the upper 20’s for some time.
With cold mornings still in the forecast through early next week, make sure your pipes are prepared for the below freezing temperatures. The cold start today is not going to help afternoon temperatures– not much of a warm up is expected and highs in the Klamath Basin will only be in the mid to upper 30’s. Through the next several days expect slow and gradual warm ups.
The quiet and dry weather will settle over our region through the middle of next week. This will bring lots of sun to all areas, including the Coastline. An offshore wind the next few days is going to bring temperatures into the 60’s in Brookings through Saturday.
