the red cross is emma says, "this trailer has everything needed to set up a red cross shelter, from cots and blankets and pillows to toiletries. the red cross tells me there's a trailer double the size of this one set up in the illinois valley right now already there rather than to try to hurryidly get it into position." and right now - it's all about being prepared. these red cross doors may be closing.. but another shelter could be set up at a moment's notice in cave junction. one of these trailers is standing by, with one hundred cots and lots of supplies. with lowered evacuation orders, the 12 evacuees staying at this shelter will need to head out tomorrow. i asked if they'll have a place to go. "we have given them notice of the close and they would return to their residence or wherever they were staying prior to the event." joel king tells me the most evacuees staying here at one time was 17. most of them coming from the taylor creek fire. the red cross says its thankful for donations brought in by community members.
