and threatened newswatch 12's sionan barrett is live at one of the houses threatened by the fire. she tells us why at least one resident was physically removed by sheriff deputies. people living in this home defended their property creating a wetline with garden hoses. they tell me the fire was about three homes away when sheriff deputies advised them to leave. derby says, "we just use brute force put our shoulders into it wound up breaking the boards at the base i guess were stronger than we thought." john and mike live in this home. chacon says, "this is our house were defending it." they broke down their fence to fight the fire with garden hoses. chacon says, "we're on the front lines of the fire there's no firemen here so we decided to defend our house and save it." and they weren't letting the house burn down without a fight. derby says, "that was the first time i really felt heat come off of the fire and i could feel it all the way from there." the sheriff's office went door to door advising people to leave immediately. chacon says, "if the fire department was here we would've went we would've let them do their job but there is nobody here it was just us." the fire moved fast. county sheriff's deputies showed up. chacon says, "they just said your lives back and dragged me out, two of them did, and i actually got away and ran and tried to go in the house and then advisories aren't mandatory.. the sheriff's office says they did physically remove a man for his own safety at this home because the fire was actively burning quote confirm who they interacted with. chacon says, "at first they were just being nice and saying you gotta go you gotta go and then eventually turned into dragging us out." the sheriff's office says no one was injured in this incident. those two neighbors say after they left the sheriff deputies grabbed pets and pictures in their home to save for them. and while they appreciate that, they're still upset they were physically forced to leave. live in central point, sionan barrett, continued
