now fire district newswatch 12's alicia rubin is live with an update for how big that fire got. alicia, what can you tell us? the peninger fire is 100-percent contained after growing to 97 acres all within a couple of hours. ben says: "it's definitely...... it's crazy ......it's big ......the wind is absolutely insane right now and it's caring this super super quickly" 30 units and 60-70 firefighters from jackson and josephine counties responded to the fire. ben watched it all develop. ben says: "about 30 or 35 minutes it burned all the way from next to the family fun center up the creek and burned all the way down table rock in less than an hour" ground and air crews aggressively attacked the fire from all sides as it swept east, crossing and closing down roads and exits. ben says: "there's already a big plumes of black smoke behind me i wouldn't be surprised if that was some structure of some sort you don't see black smoke like that unless it's some structure." according to fire district three five outbuildings were destroyed, one outbuilding was damaged and three homes were were destroyed, one outbuilding was damaged and three homes were damaged. ben says: "in under an hour ... i haven't seen a fire like this in a really long time." crews will continue mop-up overnight. live in central point, alicia rubin, newswatch 12. turning to stormwatch 12 chief meteorologist
