days. we go live now to newswatch 12's andryanna sheppard. she gives us an update on both of those fires. both the hendrix fire and the watershed fires were started by lightning yesterday. the forest service tells me crews have been working since the fire was reported to get them out. [a18]ashland fires-vo right now the hendrx fire is around 170 acres. the watershed fire is smaller between three and five acres. both of those fires have multiple crews and aircraft attacking them. the forest tells me fighting these fires are tricky. it's steep terrain and there is heavy timber. the forest says its working to get more resources to the area. eric says: "they're still holding their own. they're still doing pretty good. we're trying to get some additional resources in to them to support them and to also we have an air attack out there supporting that." the forest services says, so far, air tankers have dropped about 10 thousand gallons of retardant on the hendrix fire. so far no structures are threatened [a20]ashland fires-live tag the u-s forest service tells me another team will be taking over the hendrix fire. that team is getting briefed right now. reporting live,
