"he works hard every day. he's an inspiration to everyone whose life he touches." six-year-old bauer white shows us the toughest people aren't always the biggest brandon white "he's stronger than i think most people that you'll ever friends like nobody's business." but the most resilient are often the most inspiring brandon white "when bauer was born, he was born with a pretty big heart condition. he had a heart surgery at three months old." through that heart surgerythrough stomach complications brandon white "vision impairment and hearing loss." bauer has shown unmatched toughness so, it was only fitting that some of the area's toughest athletes came together to raise money for a different kind of warrior matt sampson "i've been doing this for 12 years and this is the first time i've seen something like this, so this is great." the first annual sparrow games were put on by fire district three 76 local crossfit athletes competed in a variety of challenges, all to raise money for bauer's family brandon white "he was just all up in arms and excited about everything, the big american flag and the fire trucks." about $4,500 was raised by the event, which adds to the money students at crater high partnered with sparrow clubs raised this year matt sampson "they raised in between $5,000-6,000 for bauer." and bauer's mom and dad, lauren and brandon, got to read heartwarming letters from the crater students who worked with bauer all year brandon white "it's amazing to see what a community will do for families and especially children when they need help and support." the toughest people aren't always the biggest as his community proved and his fighting spirit continues to confirm, with resilience comes inspiration. the second annual blind squirrel
