jacob - today, we're at mill creek falls scenic area, where you'll be able to get the most bang for your buck of any of the trails in southern oregon. that is to say, it's only about a mile and a half there and back, not very much elevation gain, but we'll be able to see some great scenery including giant boulders, and although t-l-c told us, "don't go chasing waterfalls," that's exactly what we're going to do. so, let's take a hike this trail sees heavy traffic throughout the summerand it's easy to see whykids enjoy the trailand man's best friend is a fan as well a downside is that the trail's signs aren't very well markedwe reach a fork in the roadand we'll go right, knowing either way we will see both the falls and boulders eventually within minuteswe already reach the amazing view of mill creek fallswe're not all that closebut it's marvelous nonetheless then, we find our way to bar creek falls just up the trail, which has an even clearer view jacob - so, obviously the way we went at the beginning led us to both waterfalls, both mill creek and bar creek falls. now, if we head the other way, the straight way that we didn't go the first time, we'll get to see those giant boulders we were promised at the beginning so, we make our way back boulders areon the opposite end of the trail jacob - now that we know we're headed in the right direction toward the boulders, it shouldn't be that much longer until we reach them. much like the falls, they aren't too far away from your starting point. there are some interesting narrow walkways and you have to descend down rocks a couple times, but again, in almost no timewe've reached our destinationfirst going to the river for a look at some rapids then, it's on to the boulderswhich surround you near the riverespecially for small childrenthese behemoths are sure to please. jacob - it took us less than two hours to see the waterfalls and now the boulders, which aren't quite as picturesque, but they're still pretty stunning to look at. so, if you're looking for a hike in less than two hours, with the family, with your kids, with the dog, you couldn't find much better than mill creek falls scenic areain prospect, jacob kornhaus ernewswatch 12 sports. here's a look at what's
