a few weeks ago... the signing made it official today. crater's kiefer edwards will be attending southern oregon university and playing basketball for the raiders. after being recruited by division one idaho and some other naia schools, kiefer decided to trust his gut and stay local. kiefer says, "it didn't take much convincing, it actually, i really liked it from the get-go. being local, it's a big factor. i've become really close with the coaching staff and i know a lot of players that are attending there right now. it just really feels like home." with pen to paper, and the letter of intent sealed, kiefer continues a storied crater to sou pipeline. his high school head coach, chris schmerbach laced it up for the raiders... and so when it comes to seeing more of this at the college level... everyone knows he'll be in good hands. sou head coach brian mcdermott thinks he got quite the steal. brian says, "for someone that's that long and handles the ball like that, and he's a very nice shooter, he's a guy that we think he's going to be able to play before he's done four positions." chris says, "the dominant career that he had at our level, there's a lot left another level and i'm just excited to see what he can accomplish."
