tonight will remain pretty cloudy and damp with scattered rain and snow showers. snow levels will continue to drop as colder air moves in behind that strong cold front. by morning, snow levels will be down around 3,000' or possibly lower under heavier snow showers. our highest elevations will see several inches of snow, but some of our mountain passes like the i-5 siskiyou summit and mt. shasta summit could have some minor accumulations into the morning hours. on shower activity should become less numerous with a break developing for late wednesday and through wednesday night. temperatures will be much cooler tomorrow, as well. below average temperatures for this time of the year will continue through the rest of the work week. another storm system will arrive thursday to keep rain and snow chances through friday. isolated showers will remain possible on saturday, too. by sunday into monday, we appear to dry out at this time, but that's not a guarantee, mainly for sunday. temperatures do moderate a bit by monday...a bit closer to averages for this time of the year. that will be short-lived though. we're watching another storm system that could impact the area on tuesday.
