Gio Insignares is a morning anchor and reporter for NewsWatch 12.
Gio Insignares is up well before the crack of dawn every day, as he gets ready to co-anchor Newswatch 12 This Morning.
Gio joined Newswatch 12 after getting his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. Medford is already the fourth different place he’s lived, after spending time in Florida, Alabama, and Maryland.
Born and raised in Miami, he logged 10 years in the sunshine state before spending his middle-school years in Maryland, high-school years in northern Alabama, and four years of school in College Park.
After discovering a passion for writing and storytelling--as well as a love for the sound of his own voice—Gio’s time in school consisted of producing, shooting, writing, and editing his own stories.
He also juiced up on knowledge with three internships at stations in Washington D.C. and Miami: WJLA-TV, WRC-TV, and WTVJ/WSCV.
When he’s not sipping every last drop of coffee from funny-looking mugs, you can find Gio either at the gym, the movies, or just about any restaurant in southern Oregon.
If you want to share a story idea or just have a conversation, feel free to reach out to Gio on Twitter or Facebook.
