North Medford Falls to West Linn in State Quarterfinals

No. 5 North Medford fell short, 42-32 against No. 4 West Linn in the 6A girls state quarterfinals Wednesday, moving them to the consolation bracket.

PORTLAND -- North Medford's shot at a state title ended Wednesday when the Black Tornado fell to West Linn, 42-32 at the Chiles Center in Portland. The Black Tornado now move to the consolation bracket of the state tournament. 

North Medford won its first shared or outright conference title this season since 2008. After a rough start to their opening-round game, they breezed to two wins on the way to the state tournament. Now eliminated from title contention, they will face No. 9 Clackamas on Thursday at 9 a.m.
