MEDFORD-- Five southern Oregon high school wrestlers have been crowned state champions.
The two-day tournament in Portland saw Crater senior, and Oregon State commit, Logan Meek become a three-time champion, and his teammates Zeth Brower and Beau Crawford earn hardware as well.
Meek is just the second wrestler in Crater history to win three state titles, and his efforts along with those of Brower and Crawford helped the Comets place second as a team at the 5A level.
In class 6, North Medford's Kyleigh Lopez also became a three-time state champion, however this year's honor undoubtedly felt sweeter, as it was the first year the OSAA recognized girls wrestling as an official sport.
Elsewhere, Cascade Christian's Gabe Vidlak won the 113-pound title, and his brother, Ryan Vidlak placed second in the 106-pound weight class.
