EAGLE POINT, Ore.—It didn’t seem to be a matter of if Crater senior Kiefer Edwards would surpass the 1,300 career point threshold on Tuesday, but how quickly.

Needing only ten points entering the night, Edwards blew past that mark in the first quarter, finished the half with 17 and the game with 24. The No. 2 Comets trounced Eagle Point 86-46 and improved to 18-1 overall and 8-1 in Midwestern League play.

Elsewhere, the North Medford boys were upset by Grants Pass 55-50. The Black Tornado, however, remain in first place in the SWC by half a game.

The Black Tornado girls secured their seventh straight win, topping Grants Pass 44-34. North Medford remains a half game behind Sheldon for first place in the conference.

Among the 4A Skyline Conference action on Tuesday, the Hidden Valley girls stayed unbeaten in league in a clash of top-ten teams. Mazama pushed the Mustangs to the brink, but thanks to Kaylee Krusemark’s big night from behind the arc, Hidden Valley snuck away with a 33-32 win.
