Several agencies respond to rollover in Wonder

A man is recovering after he rolled his car down a steep embankment near Briggs Valley Road Tuesday afternoon.

WONDER, Ore.-- On Tuesday around 1:30pm, several agencies responded to a rollover crash in Wonder.

Rural Metro Fire, Illinois Valley Fire District & American Medical Response responded to the crash which was approximately 2 miles up Briggs Valley Road off Redwood Hwy.

Rural Metro says the vehicle was found 50 yards over a steep embankment, but the driver was able to self-extricate and climb to the road.

Officials say the adult male was suffering from moderate injuries and was transported to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass.

A dog in the vehicle, described as a bloodhound, was scared off after the crash.

Rescuers searched the area but were unable to locate.

Firefighters are asking drivers near the remote Forest Service access road that leads to Onion Mountain, to keep an eye out for the dog.
