There is a ongoing manhunt for a woman accused of robbing a realtor in east Medford on Monday. Medford police say the woman and a man pretended to be home buyers before they stole her purse and went on a shopping spree.

Realtors say they understand the risk is part of the business and they look for ways to minimize it. Still, this doesn't fully prevent some scary situations.

Staci Drewien with Rockwell Group says someone recently reached out to her by text saying they wanted to buy a house, were pre-qualified and had a lot of money to spend. Yet, when they sent their passport for identification, she discovered the document had been doctored.

"When I zoomed in on the property, they had completely photoshopped it," explained Staci. "There was someone else's photo and then on the bottom of the passport they had missed a section and didn't cover the name."

Skye Flora with John L. Scott also detailed a scary encounter she had when she was doing an open house by herself.

"I had somebody walk in that I could tell right off the bat was maybe not there to check out the house," Skye remembers. "Thankfully a couple walked in right behind this person and I asked them if they just wouldn't mind hang around with me."

Skye says it's always best to trust one's gut. "I think the bottom line is, if you don't feel safe or, you know if there's a bell going off in your head like this just doesn't seem right, listen to your gut instincts because it's better to be safe than sorry," she says.

Medford police are still looking for the woman involved in the Monday robbery. Anyone with information is asked to give them a call.
