Medford Fire says a smoke column could be seen four blocks away while on their way to the scene and when they got on scene there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage.

This fire happened on North Peach Street.

Medford Fire says the fire in the garage was threatening the house, but crews got to it quickly.

The fire burned through a powerline so Pacific Power also came out to cut the power to the house.

Everyone was able to get out and no one was hurt.

Neighbors were shocked by the commotion.

Chris Vizcaino says, "My mom in law called to ask if we were ok, I didn’t even know about the fire. They did a good job."

Medford Fire-Rescue Acting Captain Mike Haughey says, "Its a downtown area, the houses are close, we pulled hose lines down both sides of the house to protect both the house and neighboring houses from the fire.

As to how the fire started, Medford Fire says results from the investigation should be ready in about a day.
