Josephine County Food Bank Says "Cheese"

Participating restaurants will offer their take on grilled cheese—to benefit the Josephine County Food Bank.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Restaurants all around Grants Pass will soon be offering their unique take on an old favorite—the grilled cheese sandwich. Each sale of a grilled cheese sandwich from any one of the participating restaurants will see $2 donated to the Josephine County Food Bank.

To sweeten the deal for hungry restaurant-goers, the Food Bank will also offer several contests. Punch cards can be picked up from any one of the participating restaurants. Purchasing five grilled cheese sandwichs from any of the participants and getting the card filled out will enter the bearer into a drawing for a $100 Fred Meyer gift certificate.

Grilled cheese-buyers can also take a selfie with their sandwish, post it to Facebook with the hashtag #saycheeseGP, and be entered into a drawing for a $100 Dutch Bros gift certificate.

Below you'll find the complete list of participating restaurants and their special grilled cheese offerings:

-Blondies: Four-Cheese Grilled Cheese served on house sourdough Parmesan crusted bread with smoked Gouda, sharp Cheddar, Havarti Cheese, Chipotle mayo, tomato & red onion.
-Bohemian Bar & Bistro: Four Cheese Grilled Cheese with basil, pesto, crispy bacon, ham & tomato.
-Buffalo Bill’s Train Depot: Pear it is — Rogue Creamery Oregonzola cheese with candied bacon, roasted Oregon pear, balsamic glaze on a Ciabatta Hoagie roll.
-Carson’s Bistro: Two thick pieces of Rise Up Bakery Rosemary Ciabatta grilled with Asiago, Provolone, Mozzarella, Parmesan and White Cheddar cheeses, served with a bowl of creamy Tomato Leek bisque.
-Casa Amiga: Grilled flour tortilla filled with choice of cheese & meat (chorizo, chicken, carne asada, ground beef or shredded beef) with sliced avocado, sour cream, & jalapenos on the side.
-Climate City: Our Grilled Cheese Sandwich will feature grilled artisan cured ham layered with aged gruyere, brie cheese, and caramelized onions served on toasted house rustic Italian bread with a light spread of jalapeno roasted tomato cured mustard.
-Cultured Palate: Angela has created a Cuban Guava Grilled Cheesecake! Inspired by the popular Cuban Cracker cream cheese and guava dessert.
-Eddie’s Old Fashion: The Haunted Grilled Cheese Sandwich featuring 2 American, 2 Pepper-Jack and 2 Jalapeno Bacon, with Ghost Sauce and served with Kettle Chips.
-Goodness Gracious: House Grilled Cheese with Provolone & Cheddar grilled to perfection with parm-mayo sauce served with soup of the day
-Johnny’s (in the Grocery Outlet Plaza) enters the fray with the least expensive Grilled Cheese sandwich in the contest, featuring 3 slices of high quality American Cheese served on your choice of white, wheat, rye or sourdough grilled to perfection for $3.95. A side of dill pickles is included.
-Laughing Clam: Gouda Belly – A smoked Gouda, cheddar and parmesan cheeses with grilled pork belly served on herb encrusted rye bread. Choice of French fries or ginger coleslaw.
-Lulu’s for the love of Food: Sourdough, mozzarella, cheddar, sun dried tomato aioli, arugula pesto grilled cheese.
-MaMosa’s: A new special every week during March! We will start with a roasted veggie and pesto grilled cheese on sourdough. Stay tuned for the next three weekly specials.
-The Vine: Mozzarella, provolone, sharp cheddar, parmesan and feta cheese on La Brea Sourdough loaf with thick bacon slices served with fries or soup.
-River’s Edge: Grilled Cheese served on fresh baked bread, 4-year aged cheddar & gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, roasted pear served with tomato bisque soup.
-Ric’s Corvette Bar & Grill: 4 Cheese All-Star Grilled Cheese. Choice of bread buttered, powdered & coated with parmesan cheese and featuring American, Swiss and shredded cheddar grilled to a golden brown. And, if you like, add fresh sliced tomato.
-Rosso’s Trattoria: A stuffed sourdough boule with seasoned garlic butter, Tillamook extra sharp white cheddar, goat brie, smoked Gouda, and fontina. Served with a side of opal apple slices and a cup of Rosso's tomato basil soup.
-Shari’s Café & Pies: Hand crafted sandwich with crispy edged grilled cheese featuring parmesan, pepper jack, Swiss & cheddar cheese.
-Twisted Cork: Wild mushroom black truffle grilled cheese sandwich, A blend of Truffle White Cheddar & Fontina Cheese with a Sautee of Wild Mushroom & Fresh Herbs Grilled in black Truffle Oil.
-Wild River Pub: Triple Cheese Ham ‘n Mac Stack -- House made penne noodles tossed in a blend of gouda, provolone, and cheddar cheese sautéed with thinly sliced prosciutto cheese and stacked on our triple layered grilled focaccia bread. Served with a side of jalapeno-infused coleslaw.
