MEDFORD, Ore. – A daytime burglar is now in custody after stealing a change of clothes, according to the Medford Police Department (MPD). The break-in happened at 8:30 a.m. this morning, March 8.

A neighbor says that they spotted a man breaking in through the front window of a home on the 3500 block of Princeton Way in Medford. The neighbor called Medford Police.

Police were able to reach the residence in a matter of minutes, before the suspect had a chance to make his exit. As police were deploying at the scene, the suspect came out through the front door of the home and immediately fled on foot.

29 year-old Andrew James was apprehended in the parking lot of Hillcrest Business Park, about a block away from the break-in. James was uncooperative and resisted arrest, according to the MPD.

The homeowners say that they do not know the suspect. Investigators believe that James only stole clothing, which he put on before fleeing the scene. James also left belongings in the home.

James is being held in the Jackson County Jail on charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2, and Criminal Mischief 2. His bail is set at $30,000.
