The same statement indicates that Smith allegedly fired six shots from a .40 caliber handgun out of his driver's-side window, hitting victim David Lamburth multiple times in the back and legs. Nearby were three other people, who are also being considered targets of the shooting.

Smith's 3-year-old and 1.5-year-old children were apparently in the car during the shooting, according to police. The statement says that Smith fled the scene, but was later arrested and "admitted his involvement."

The District Attorney's office now aims to charge Smith with four counts of Attempted Aggravated Murder with a Firearm, one count of Attempted Murder with a Firearm, and one count of Assault in the First Degree with a Firearm. However, those charges await a Grand Jury before the case can proceed.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Klamath Falls man is in jail following a shooting that occurred on Sunday night, according to the Klamath Falls Police Department (KFPD).

Police responded to the area of S 5th Street and Walnut Avenue just before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. KFPD indicated that officers and EMS personnel found a wounded male victim who was then transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center.

When detectives arrived to investigate the scene, they found reason to suspect 30-year-old Robert Smith II for the shooting. According to KFPD, detectives also came to believe that the shooting resulted from a "domestic disturbance."

Smith was found, arrested, and booked into the Klamath County Jail. He has been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Recklessly Endangering Another. KFPD said that the investigation is still ongoing.

The name of the victim in this case has not been released, however KFPD reports that he remains in stable condition.
