Diamond Parking is the parking enforcement contractor for the City of Medford. Now that Diamond Parking's collections module is updated, more than 19,000 unpaid parking tickets have been sent to collections.

For years Diamond Parking didn't have a way to send collection notices because it doesn't have DMV access to driver contact information. This created a backlog of unpaid tickets, totaling almost $600,000.

Diamond Parking has partnered with Southern Oregon Credit Service, which is able to access driver info and send out collection notices.

If you receive a collections notice for a ticket, here is what you need to know:

1. The City of Medford says a ticket or fine cannot affect your credit score, or be put on a credit report.
2. Unpaid tickets from before 2016 can be settled for half the amount.
3. Collection notices are sent to the current DMV registrant. This means if you receive a collections notice for a ticket that happened before you bought your car, take a copy of the Bill of Sale to Diamond Parking or Southern Oregon Credit Service and they will wave the fee.

Currently, a parking citation is initially $25. On day 31 it increases to $50, and on day 45 it goes to collections.
