Local Family Suffers Second Tragedy In Less Than A Month

A local family is asking for the community's support. The Mayo family lost their son last month after a road rage incident on I-5 and now his sister has been involved in a terrible car accident paralyzing her.

PORTLAND, Ore.-- Less than a month after losing their son, 25-year-old Kevin Mayo, the Mayo family is suffering another tragedy.
Kevin's sister, 27-year-old Monique, was involved in a tragic car accident Monday morning which has left her paralyzed from the chest down.
The family tells NewsWatch 12 Monique was headed home to Bend after visiting their family when she hit a patch of ice and rolled her car.
She ended up pinned underneath her car for 30 minutes until a good samaritan found her and called for help.
Now Monique is in the hospital in Portland, with a long road of healing ahead.
Doctors say she is paralyzed from her chest down, and may never regain functionality.
This comes after the tragic loss of Kevin, who was killed December 14th in a road rage incident on I-5. 
Kevin was on his motorcycle and was hit my a pickup truck driver, who police say swerved into him intentionally.
