GPDPS Announces Special Enforcement Programs To Find Distracted Drivers

After just two hours of watching for distracted drivers, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety made 33 traffic stops.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- After just two hours of watching for distracted drivers, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety made 33 traffic stops.

During the special detail that lasted from 8:30AM to 10:30PM, officers looked for drivers that were on their phones while driving. 

In a statement released by GPDPS they stated, "It is our hope with these special enforcement programs and public education we can reduce crashes and injuries in Grants Pass."

Throughout 2018 the department will be conducting additional enforcement details for violations including; disobeying traffic signals, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile device, speeding, crosswalk violations, and DUI's.
