Missing Woman from Phoenix Found Dead

At 1:40 pm, the body of Diane Sanders was found in Bear Creek about ¼ mile north of her residence.

"On 12/07/17 at 9:00 am, the Phoenix Police Department was conducting a welfare check on Diane Sanders, a 72-year-old female at her residence on Luman Road. The Phoenix Police Department was unable to contact Sanders at her residence and neighbors in the area stated they hadn’t seen her in a couple of days.

With the assistance from a Jackson County Sheriff’s Department K-9, a wooded area along Bear Creek behind Sander’s residence was searched.

At 1:40 pm, the body of Diane Sanders was found in Bear Creek about ¼ mile north of her residence.

The Phoenix Police Department and Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office are now investigating the death. There are no signs of fowl play and the cause of death is unknown at this time. A cause of death will be determined next week after an autopsy has been performed.

PHOENIX, Ore. -- The Phoenix Police Department is trying to find Diane Sanders.  She was last seen on Tuesday after being dropped off at her house by a taxi.  Earlier that day, she had been involved in a crash near Williams, Oregon.  She was taken to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass for a time, but released and taken home.  

Police tell us Sanders suffers mini strokes and has an implanted pacemaker from recent heart attack. Sanders may also be experiencing some decreased mental health capacity due to some recent behavior possibly related to PTSD issues.
