The crash happened Monday night, near milepost 1 on Williams Highway in Josephine County. This is a county highway about 14 miles southwest of Grants Pass.

According to Oregon State Police, 27 year old Joshua Silva was driving a 1999 Toyota pick-up, heading westbound on Williams Highway. For an unknown reason, police say the driver failed to negotiate a left hand curve driving off the roadway into a ditch. He continued traveling in the ditch, striking a telephone pole; which caused the truck to roll.

There were two passengers in the truck; one had minor injuries, but the other passenger was thrown from the truck and did not survive the crash. Police are not releasing the deceased passengers name until officers can notify his family.

According to a news release, the Oregon State Police says it is investigating "impairment (drugs/alcohol)" as a contributing factor of the crash.
