MEDFORD, Ore. -- Joseph Sallman was sentenced to 10 years in prison with two years of post-prison supervision and a $200 fine after the judge found him guilty for attempted murder, animal abuse in the first degree, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

In July 2017 Sallman and the victim, John Laroe got into an argument that resulted in Sallman shooting 60 rounds of ammunition at Laroe's truck as he drove away from his house. 9 of those rounds hit Laroe's dog and two hit Laroe in the abdomen.

The two men say they used to be friends but now Laroe says the sentencing wasn't harsh enough, saying, "I think he deserved a lot more time and should've been charged with at least three more assault and attempted murder charges at the very minimum."
