Another hot day is in store for much of the region. Partly to mostly sunny skies will bring high temperatures into the 80’s and 90’s this afternoon. A cloudy start will yield a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon for the coast where temperatures will top out in the mid 60’s.
A fire weather warning will go into effect at noon today for the East Side, Eastern Siskiyou County & Modoc County. A combination of warm temperatures, low humidities and strong winds will make for dangerous fire weather conditions. If a fire were to start it would spread rapidly under these conditions. Plus, fire efforts are still taking place for the lightning induced fires earlier this week. With it being the 4th of July everyone needs to be extra cautious handling fireworks!
The holiday weekend will be a hot one. Afternoon temperatures will be on a warming trend into early next week. By Sunday and even Monday in some areas, triple digit high temperatures are expected. This could even continue through Wednesday.
Also for Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon and evening thunderstorms are looking likely in Siskiyou County and the Klamath Basin.
