MEDFORD, Ore. — More than 100 applications have been submitted to the Oregon Department of Transportation to create new transit options in the Rogue Valley.
The 2013 Oregon legislature approved $42 million in lottery-backed bonds for a program called Connect Oregon. This is the first year they have added bicycle and pedestrian projects as eligible applicants.
The Jackson County Roads and Parks Department submitted a project that would create a bicycle and pedestrian to continue the Highway 62 bypass project.
A thorough application review and recommendations process will occur over the next few months, with a final decision on approved projects set for summer 2014.
