GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Thursday is National Peanut Butter Day and one local auto shop is celebrating. Kelly’s Automotive Service will give anyone free wiper blades who brings in a jar of peanut butter to their Grants Pass or Central Point shops. It’s part of the shop’s Wipe Out Hunger Day. The auto shop wants people to remember that many go hungry all year and need help not just during the holidays.
Thursday also kicks off the Annual Relay For Life Fundraiser in Josephine County. The race will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., beginning at the Fruitdale Grange, on the corner of Rogue River Highway & Parkdale. When participants arrive they will get a passport that will get stamped as they travel through the race, learning what a relay is and how your participation contributes to the world.
On both Thursday and Friday, you can purchase orchids at the Annual Orchid Sale at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. the sale will be held on the second floor of the hospital. 30 types of orchids will be available ranging from $10 to $25. All funds from the sale will go to support the hospital.
