Comment Period Ends for SOU Retrenchment

SOUASHLAND, Ore. — Southern Oregon University has finished taking public comments on its upcoming budget cuts, and school leaders are now coming up with a business plan.

The university is going through “retrenchment,” which means programs and faculty will likely have to be cut to make up for a multi-million dollar budget shortfall School leaders have spent the past few months receiving feedback from students, faculty, and the surrounding community on what should be cut and what should be spared.

University leaders are still working on a business plan, which will be submitted to the Oregon University System for approval.
