Cold & Snowy Start

video preview image

A very cold pattern is settling over Southern Oregon and Northern California.  Several weak weather systems will move into the region in the morning hours, dropping up to an inch from the valley floors up to 1,500 feet.  As much as 1 to 3 inches is expected above 1,500 feet.  Slick roads coming off the hillsides and over the bridges and overpasses in the valleys can be expected through about 10 AM.  Plus, during brief moderate or heavy snow showers, there may be a brief glaze on the asphalt road surfaces…so slow down if you encounter a snow shower.

For the most part, roads in the Rogue Valley are too warm for much accumulation.  Most snowfall will be on the grassy and cold surfaces, like rooftops, trees, vehicles and other metal objects (like bridges and overpasses).

Additional snowfall is expected Wednesday morning, before turning to rain in the afternoon.  Rain and snow will fall, off again, on again on Thursday, with showers Friday into the weekend!

Would like to hear more on weather conditions and forcasts in Klamath Falls, OR. You don’t seem to understand just how many people here in K.Falls rely on you for the weather report, which is very scant. We are a very large area with la very large population. Medford and the Rogue Valley isn’t the only place in the world.
