Cold Front Moves Through Today

video preview image

Waking up this morning you may have noticed it was chilly outside, well that is going to continue through the afternoon with temperatures unseasonably cool!  Tomorrow morning will actually be even colder than this morning, so you may need to bundle up especially if you or you’re kids are going to be out at the bus stop early.  Besides temperatures today the story will be the winds.  Expect to see strong wind gusts late this afternoon through early evening for inland areas, and strong winds all day at the coast.  The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Seas Warning, a Gale Watch and a Small Craft Advisory!  Keep this is mind if you’re heading out in the ocean today as winds will be stronger the further out to sea you are.  For inland areas gusts up to 25 mph are possible with the strongest winds staying in Oregon and east of the Cascades.  Northern California won’t be getting as strong of winds as the cold front will be north of that area, so they won’t be getting as much of a cool down either.

This taste of Fall is short-lived, however, as temperatures jump 10-20 degrees by Thursday bringing back a tast of mid-Summer!  As we head into the weekend though we’ll see temperatures moderate to someplace in the middle and become  much more seasonable.

Remember to like me on Facebook and send me your weather questions for a chance to have them answered during the morning show!  I’d also love to answer kids weather questions, so send those in and I’ll give them a shout out on-air during the bus-stop forecast as well as when I answer the question!

Thanks for logging on and enjoy this cool Monday!
