ASHLAND, Ore. — Starting October 1st, checked out books won’t be the only thing you can drop off at the Ashland Library. This year’s annual Coats for Kids drive begins Monday and as temperatures begin to drop, it’s time to go through your closet and see if your kids have outgrown last year’s coat.
There are dozens of locations through out Southern Oregon. The red donation barrels can be found in many places, including at the Ashland Public Library.
“We love being a part of it. It’s a wonderful service that you do for the whole county, it’s really nice” said Ashland Public Library Branch Manager, Amy Blossom.
The Coats for Kids drive will run through October 26th and Blossom says she hopes to have a full barrel of coats that will keep kids warm this winter.
“I think that’s what this is about is getting them something that will be their own but will also have a good utilitarian purpose,” said Blossom.
