Coast Guard Warns Northwest Crabbers

WARRENTON, Ore. — The U.S. Coast Guard is warning Northwest crabbers to not only wear their life jackets, but get plenty of rest as well. They say, fatigue is a leading cause of commercial fishing deaths.

Fatigue is also what recently played a role in the grounding of vessels near Cape Arago in Oregon and in Washington also.

Just last week a Washington crabber without a life jacket fell off a boat and disappeared.
