ROCKAWAY BEACH, Ore. — Four swimmers are safe after being rescued by the Coast Guard.
Two children and two adults were near Surf Sands Resort near Rockaway Beach when the current began to sweep them away from the beach. A witness called 911 and a Coast Guard helicopter and two boats were deployed for the rescue.
The swimmers were taken to a hospital for hypothermia but were reported in good condition. The adult swimmers say they originally went into the water to rescue the two children.
