Climber Rescued Off Mt. Hood

MT. HOOD, Ore. — An Oregon man had his broken bones set after falling up to 200 feet on Mt. Hood on Wednesday.

A search and rescue volunteer who just happened to be climbing in the same area happened upon the 52-year-old man. Clackamas County deputies say the man broke his leg from the fall in the morning, but he was rescued by nightfall.

Mt. Hood is Oregon’s highest peak at 11,240 feet. Thousands of people climb the mountain each year.
