Clear Moonlit Nights, Sunny Warm Days

High pressure will strengthen over the Pacific Northwest, as a significant storm (with the remnants of Typhoon Wipha) producing a major Gulf of Alaska Storm and deep low pressure in the Central Pacific.

Strong low pressure is also entrenched over the Eastern United States, with storms producing snow in Denver and over Kansas and severe weather eastward into Missouri and the Ohio Valley this weekend.  This is a very stable pattern, so no change is expected in the ridge of high pressure over Southern Oregon and Northern California all weekend and much of next week.
