JACKSONVILLE, Ore. — A Britt tradition kicked off this weekend. The Storytelling Guild’s Children’s Festival is in it’s 48th year. Saturday hundreds of children and families explored the tents on the hill. Kids could make origami, create pottery dishes and watch gymnasts.
Volunteers say this event has visitors who came to the Children’s Festival as a kid and come back with their grandchildren.
“So that’s like a really magical thing they have that memory and then they carry it forward to the next generation and that’s the only way we’ve been able to do it for 48 years and hopefully even more,” said Co-Director Lona Dillard.
The event continues through the weekend. Sunday’s session is from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday’s session is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
