GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Police say a California man driving under the influence of intoxicants crashed into a car early Sunday morning in Grants Pass. Police say Charles Novak ran a red light and hit a Subaru, injuring everyone inside.
The 4-year-old girl in the car suffers from a liver laceration. The 6-year-old boy has a broken leg. The father of the children suffers from a broken foot, and another woman in the car sustained internal injuries.
All were transported to Three Rivers Medical Center, but the 4-year-old was later transported by Mercy Flights to Oregon Health and Science University for treatment.
The crash happened at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Highway 238 at the intersection of Highway 199. Novak is in the Josephine County Jail on multiple charges including DUII, reckless driving, and assault.
