Cherry Creek Housing Agreement Reached

MEDFORD, Ore. – After facing protests, and even a lawsuit, an agreement has been reached for the Cherry Creek housing development.

The Jackson County Housing Authority says, they collaborated with the city of Medford and concerned neighbors over the last few months in a decision to reduce the size of the complex from one hundred units to fifty.

The housing authority will transfer 2-and-a-half acres of the site to the city, so they can expand Donahue-Frohnmayer Park along with 150,000 for public improvements.

In exchange, the Medford Urban Renewal Agency will give a piece of downtown to the housing authority.
